Donkdeptrai Forest Foundation safeguards, restores, and sustainably manages Estonia's precious woodlands — certified under PEFC standards — for generations to come.
Donkdeptrai Forest Foundation operates out of Kuuse talu, Risti küla, Lääne-Nigula vald — managing one of Estonia's most biodiverse woodland areas. Our certification under PEFC EST 1003:2022 ensures every action meets the highest international standards.
We work in close partnership with NCS Estonia OÜ (Peterburi tee 81, 13816 Tallinn) and the Riigimetsa Majandamise Keskus to guarantee full ecological accountability.
Three guiding pillars shape every decision we make in the forest.
We actively protect old-growth forests and rare habitats in Lääne-Nigula, ensuring biodiversity is preserved for future generations.
Every timber harvest is planned and monitored to PEFC standards — balancing ecological health with responsible economic use.
We plant native Estonian species — kuusk, mänd, kask — restoring logged areas and building climate-resilient woodland corridors.
From seedling to canopy, our initiatives protect every layer of Estonia's woodland ecosystem.
